Serious car accident leaves 3 dead and 2 injured in Maryland

A serious car accident in the Bethesda area of Maryland left three people dead and two people seriously injured. The three people who were killed were members of the same family, and another family member, a teenage daughter, was one of the injured victims. The car accident happened as the Maryland family’s vehicle collided with another car on the way to a school event.

At this time, the driver of the second vehicle is expected to survive the injuries he suffered in the accident, but the extent of damage is not immediately known. The daughter was taken to the hospital for treatment of critical injuries. An attorney representing the second driver maintains that he was going the speed limit at the time of the crash, and he denies any liability for the damage.

Maryland law enforcement does not believe that either driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. The accident is still under investigation, but no charges have yet been filed. Although drinking is not suspected to be the cause of the accident, there are other reasons why accidents occur, including distraction, speeding, drowsy driving and more.

When innocent people are injured in a car accident, they would be wise to take steps to protect their legal rights, even if the liable drivers have not been charged. Despite ongoing investigations, accident victims should take immediate actions to protect their rights by contacting experienced personal injury lawyers. A case evaluation is a practical, simple way to understand which legal options are available to a victim and family.
