Maryland car accident leaves two killed, two critically injured

When a car accident happens, the victims who survive them often say they happened in the blink of an eye. One moment, everything is okay, the next, the victims’ lives are changed dramatically, sometimes forever. A recent car accident claimed the life of two individuals and left two others in critical condition.

The two-car accident occurred in Dundalk, Maryland. According to the investigators, a sports car driven by a 21-year-old man was stopped an intersection, waiting at a red light. It was then rear-ended by a van that was driven by a 33-year-old man.

The driver of the sports car, as well as its front-seat passenger, a 20-year-old man, were rushed to a local medical center with life-threatening injuries and were listed in critical condition. However, the two females riding in the sports cars’ rear seats, ages 22 and 20, were killed instantly at the scene of the accident. The driver of the van, as well as a 20-year-old man, were taken for treatment for minor injuries.

When a Maryland car accident causes serious injuries that were the result of a driver’s negligence, a victim is entitled to file a personal injury claim. When successfully navigated, this type of claim sometimes provides compensation, which can be used to help alleviate many of the financial burdens imposed upon the victim of a serious car accident. These types of damages often include medical expenses, lost pay, and pain and suffering, as well as other documented financial losses. Victims of car accidents often consult experienced personal injury attorneys who can determine the validity of legal claims, as well as provide ongoing support in seeking justice in civil court.
