Increased vigilance needed to avoid Maryland motorcycle accidents

Firefighters know when they report for work every day that it could be their last shift due to the potential of death or serious injury. However, in a tragic twist, one firefighter lost in life in an after-hours accident in Maryland while he was driving his motorcycle. This incident is just the latest to support the need for increased driver vigilance in order to prevent motorcycle accidents.

The accident happened in late August. The 49-year-old firefighter was discovered suffering from serious injuries. According to police reports, an oncoming car was failed to yield when attempting to make a left turn in front of the motorcyclist. As a result, he crashed into the passenger side of the vehicle.

The man was transported to an area hospital, but later died from his injuries. The driver and passenger in the car were treated for minor injuries. The police department is requesting anyone with more information regarding the accident to contact them as they continue their investigation into the incident.

This man risked his life every day he reported to work in order to protect the lives of others, and it is a terrible tragedy that he lost his life in such a senseless manner. As his family strives to cope with the news of his death, they will also encounter unexpected financial burdens as a result of the accident. These expenses include medical bills, funeral costs and loss of income. Many other victims of motorcycle accidents have sought legal recourse in a Maryland civil court. By proving the other driver’s negligence caused the accident, the family could receive financial compensation to alleviate the burden the man’s death has placed on them.
