Recent Maryland car accident leaves 1 dead, 2 critically injured

A serious car crash has the potential to seriously impact the physical, financial and emotional well-being of a victim, in addition to the victim’s family. In addition to injuries suffered, the victim of a car accident might incur expensive medical bills and lose wages due to being absent from work, as well as other types of emotional and mental trauma. The aftermath of a such an accident is overwhelming, but luckily a Maryland victim does not have to face it alone.

One individual was killed while two others suffered critical injuries in a recent serious traffic accident. The accident occurred around 10 p.m. on a recent Saturday in November, police said. It reportedly occurred when a vehicle slowed down to turn left onto another road and a motorcycle rear-ended the turning vehicle.

The motorcycle’s passenger, a 47-year-old Edgewater woman, was ejected from the bike. A second motorcycle then collided with the first bike and the woman, according to police. The woman died at the accident’s scene. The driver of the first motorcycle, a 50-year-old man, as well as the driver of the second motorcycle, a 54-year-old Baltimore man, both suffered critical injuries and were rushed to a shock trauma center in Baltimore.

As a result of their preliminary investigation, police believe the car accident’s cause was due to the first motorcycle not yielding to the vehicle in front of it. However, they also said that alcohol was a contributing factor in the accident and charges are currently pending review. The family of the deceased may be entitled to make a claim to recover compensation for funeral expenses and lost wages that the decedent would have contributed to the family. An experienced Maryland personal injury attorney should be consulted to help with the claims process.
