Head-on car accident leaves four injured in Maryland

When car accidents occur, their effects can be long-lasting. Whether it is a slew of medical visits or on-going mental and physical suffering from the injuries sustained in the crash, the initial collision’s reverberations can be felt for a long time. One such car accident in Maryland that occurred recently has left four people injured.

The accident occurred in the middle of June during the late evening in Hartford County. A 23-year-old man was driving a mid-size car and, according to the authorities, drifted into the oncoming traffic’s lane. It was then that his vehicle hit a small pickup truck head-on.

The pickup contained three occupants, including the truck’s driver. The driver, a 53-year-old man, as well a 49-year-old woman and a 22-year-old woman, were all pinned in the vehicle and had to be removed by firefighters at the scene. They were then flown to a local medical shock trauma center for serious injuries. The driver is still listed in serious condition.

Although the cause of the crash is still being investigated by the local authorities, it is possible that the negligence of the car driver was the cause of this car accident. In Maryland, when a person is injured due to the negligence of another person, he or she is entitled to file a personal injury claim. Successfully filed, this claim can help defray some of the costs incurred by the victim, including medical bills, lost wages and pain and suffering. Contacting an experienced personal injury lawyer is the first step in establishing whether or not the victim has a viable case.
